Riding the Peace Train
Updated: Apr 26, 2019
Our ambassadors participated in an incredible experience with children in Tijuana, Mexico this summer. They walked across the border and joined the Mexican children in song, led by South African Sharon Katz. Sharon is known for leading an influential musical movement in South Africa that united children of all races during the racially-divided apartheid period. The movement came to be known as the Peace Train, as they later toured the country with the children riding in their own train to promote the message of unity throughout the segregated nation.
